Terrible Branding Advice

One of the biggest myths floating around in the business world?

👉 “You don’t need a brand to get started.”

But here’s the truth: If you've started, you already have a brand!

Branding is not just a clever logo or an alluring color palette - it’s what people think, feel, and say about your work.

Whether you realize it or not, your brand is being shaped every time you show up online, send an email, or talk about what you do.

The REAL question is…

Are you shaping your brand intentionally, or letting chance do the job for you?

If your brand is accidentally giving off “Whelp! I just threw this together” messages, you’re making client-attraction way harder than it needs to be. 😬

So, how do you create a brand that feels aligned - without overcomplicating it?

GREAT question!

Here’s where I like to start:

✔️ Clarity on your brand story & values – What do you stand for? What makes you different? Why should your dream clients choose YOU? When you know this, you’ll show up with confidence and consistency.

✔️ Clarity on your ideal customer – If you try to attract everyone, you’ll attract no one. The more specific you get about who you help and how you help them, the easier it is to create a brand that speaks directly to them.

These two things alone will lay a more solid foundation than a fancy logo ever will.

The visuals? Of course they matter.

When your visuals align with your story and values, they amplify your message and help your dream clients see themselves working with you.

But FIRST, it's critical for your brand to feel right. Because when it’s built on strategicalignment instead of whims or guesswork, selling becomes MUCH easier.

So, the question isn’t, “Do I need a brand?”

The question is, "Do I want to brand with purpose, or let it happen by accident?"
